The Strength to Begin Again: Finding Joy After a Lifetime of Giving

There comes a moment in every woman’s life — often softly, sometimes with a roar — when you stop and realize that the people you’ve spent your life caring for no longer need you in the same way.

Your children are grown. The house that once overflowed with activity and laughter now feels quiet. You’ve worked long hours, sacrificed sleep, chased deadlines, built a career, and given freely of your time and heart. You’ve carried others through storms, made sure everyone was cared for, and poured your strength into everyone but yourself.

And now… it’s your turn.

You start to ask a question you may not have asked in years:
What brings me joy?

When the Caregiver Becomes the Creator

For so long, your joy came from others — their achievements, their comfort, their dreams. But now, you feel the stir of something new — a longing to live for you. To do something that lights your spirit and makes you feel alive again.

That realization takes incredible courage.
It takes strength to shift from survival to fulfillment.
It takes empowerment to say, “I’ve supported everyone else — now I’m ready to support myself.”

Starting over isn’t easy. It means stepping into uncertainty, learning again, and trusting that your worth extends beyond what you’ve given to others. But here’s the truth:
You’ve already proven you can do hard things.
You’ve already built, led, nurtured, and conquered.

Now it’s time to pour that same determination into building a life that brings you peace and joy.

Redefining Strength

Maybe that means changing careers.
Maybe it’s launching a business, going back to school, creating art, or finally taking that trip you’ve always dreamed of.

Whatever it looks like — it’s yours.
And that makes it powerful.

This chapter isn’t about letting go of who you were; it’s about honoring everything you’ve been and giving yourself permission to become more.

Because true strength isn’t just in what you’ve endured — it’s in your ability to begin again, to move forward, and to choose you this time.

💖 Closing Reflection

If no one has told you lately — you deserve this chapter.
You deserve peace, purpose, and joy that is entirely your own.

You’ve given the world your strength; now give yourself your heart. With Much Love to you all -xoxo, SheShe

The Truth About Weight Loss:Why GLP-1s Are Changing Lives – and Where You Can Actually Afford Them

Let’s be real for a moment — weight loss isn’t just about numbers on a scale. It’s about freedom. It’s about health. It’s about finally looking in the mirror and seeing a version of yourself that reflects how you feel inside.

For so many of us, weight gain has never been just a physical challenge. It’s deeply emotional. It’s mental. It’s heavy. The judgment from others, the self-shame, the endless cycle of dieting, losing, regaining — it all adds up. Obesity isn’t a failure of willpower. It’s a medical condition that deserves real solutions — not band-aids, and not shame.

That’s why I want to talk about GLP-1 medications, like Semaglutide and Tirzepatide. If you haven’t heard of them, these are revolutionary treatments originally developed for diabetes that are now making massive waves in the world of weight loss. And for good reason.

Why GLP-1s Matter

GLP-1 receptor agonists work with your body’s natural signals — helping you feel full sooner, reduce appetite, and regulate blood sugar levels. But beyond the biology, here’s the part that matters most: They’re giving people their lives back.

Patients on GLP-1s have seen dramatic weight loss results. More importantly, they’ve reported improvements in energy, mood, sleep, and confidence. It’s not just about fitting into clothes — it’s about fitting back into your life.

The Ugly Truth: Big Pharma is Pricing People Out

But of course, nothing this life-changing comes easy — or cheap. The truth is, most brand-name GLP-1 medications are outrageously priced, often costing over $1,000 a month without insurance coverage. That’s not just unfair — it’s devastating.

We are talking about medications that could reduce the risk of heart disease, lower the chance of diabetes, and quite literally save lives. Yet many are forced to go without because the price tag makes it impossible.

There’s Hope: Local Compounding Pharmacies

Thankfully, there’s another way. Compounding pharmacies across the country are stepping up to offer safe, affordable GLP-1 formulations without the gatekeeping of big pharma. And if you’re in Texas — especially near Corpus Christi — I know exactly where you should go.

Meet Stacey Sanchez: Compassion Meets Expertise

My Heart Felt Love

Celebrating American Heart Month: A Personal Journey with Heart Impairment

Every February, we observe American Heart Month, a time when the nation spotlights heart health, awareness, and the importance of cardiovascular care. For many, this month serves as a reminder to adopt healthier lifestyles or learn more about heart disease prevention. For me, it carries a deeper, more personal significance. Living with a heart impairment has profoundly shaped my understanding of what it means to be both vulnerable and resilient.

Several years ago, I was scheduled for what was supposed to be a straightforward, thirty-minute heart procedure. It was a day like any other, filled with the usual pre-surgery jitters but underpinned by the reassuring words of my medical team. However, complications arose unexpectedly, and that short procedure extended into a grueling six-hour surgery. Despite the extended efforts of skilled doctors, the surgery did not completely correct my heart issue, leaving me to continue my journey with unresolved health challenges.

This experience was a stark reminder of the fragility of life and the unpredictable nature of heart disease. It also highlighted the incredible advancements in medical technology and the critical need for ongoing research and innovation in heart health treatments. Each year, when American Heart Month rolls around, I reflect on my experiences and the lessons they have imparted.

Living with a heart condition has taught me to prioritize my health and to be an advocate for my own well-being. It’s a daily commitment to medication, regular check-ups, and adapting my lifestyle to support my heart. This includes diet changes, regular physical activity, and stress management techniques—all pivotal in managing my condition.

American Heart Month is not just about spreading awareness; it’s about empowering individuals. It’s a call to action for everyone to take their heart health seriously, whether they are directly affected by heart issues or have the potential to be impacted in the future. We can all take steps to educate ourselves about symptoms, risk factors, and healthy practices.

For those of us living with heart impairments, this month also serves as a reminder of our strength and the supportive community that surrounds us. It’s comforting to know there are others who understand the unique challenges we face and that together, we can inspire change and foster hope.

As we mark another American Heart Month, let’s commit to better heart health, advocate for more research, and share our stories to enlighten others about the importance of heart care. After all, every heart deserves to be heard, understood, and cared for with the utmost dedication.

In this shared journey, let’s keep our hearts, and each other’s, close to our own. Much Love to you all, xoxo – SheShe

Gonna Be Okay

Three simple words, yet so meaningful. Woke up this morning and like clockwork was hit with disappointing news. My heart sank and I immediately was brought to tears. The initial reaction was “WHY DID THIS HAPPEN?”, and “NOT AGAIN!”. For those of you that know me and those that are new to the blog, I struggle with the perception of perfection. The thought of rejection or not being good enough is something I have struggled with for years. For this very reason, I push myself harder than anyone else ever could and I am also tougher on myself than anyone else. I do not leave any room for error, or so that is what I try my best to do on daily basis. Want to talk about a very exhausting struggle? This is it. Not one I recommend for anyone. There is no such thing as perfection and who would want to be perfect anyway? What kind of life would that be? No fun at all. I can testify!

After crying for what seemed like an eternity, trying to make sense of a senseless situation (that in reality I did not create), I thought I would scroll through my social media. Maybe something would take my mind off the situation. I should have known that clarity was right around the corner. The second I opened my phone the song by Brent Morgan, “Gonna Be Okay” started playing on my phone. I couldn’t help but look up and smile. If you have never heard this song, let me start by saying, it’s worth the listen!

Life is hard enough without us being hard on ourselves. It is time we believe in ourselves again and we stop letting people define the way we feel about ourselves. You define you. Read that again. Don’t give up on you. Life is not about perfection. Life is about living in the moment, each moment and making that moment yours. You only get that moment once, so why would you not want to make it the best it can possibly be? Do not live it for someone else, it’s not someone else’s dream, someone else’s life, someone else’s moment.

In case no one has ever told you, it’s gonna be okay. Believe it. Will It. Affirm It. Live It. This is my wish for you today, my hope for you today and everyday going forward. I would love to hear your affirmations and as always, much love to you all! XoXo – SheShe

Simple Yet Meaningful

As many of my followers know I have a heart condition and also have Epilepsy. Two medical illnesses that I will live with the rest of my life. Over the years I have shared some ups and downs with you through my blogs. The most commonly asked question I have been asked by many of you is how I maintain a happy spirit and positive attitude, and been so successful with my businesses despite being so sick. I know many of you face challenges of monumental depths as well, so I would like to share some helpful thoughts with you in todays blog, Simple Yet Meaningful.

The first message I would like for you to let sink in is, that you will never get this day day again. Think about that for a second, or a minute or even while reading through the rest of this blog. Today is an opportunity you will never have again. How amazing is that thought?! How amazing is it that we have today?! That we have the opportunity to use this day to do something spectacular! This really hit home for me, when the realization became all to real that with the next seizure, there may not be a tomorrow, so yes, TODAY, this day.. is my day, not tomorrow, TODAY! Besides, you always have the upper hand when you are living for today, not tomorrow!

My second message and probably the most important is to live each day happy because you are given the chance. Tomorrow is not guaranteed. Happiness is at the forefront of all of my success. Do not let little things overwhelm you and if you need help, ask. Surround yourself with people who truly care and support you. At the end of the day, those are the ones who want you to succeed and want happiness for you. This goes both ways, give back. Show kindness and light. It does the heart good! In a world where you can be anything, be a light!

I hope this blog finds you all well and I hope it helps some of you! As always, I would love to hear from you so please reach out! Much love to you all, XOXO – SheShe

The Broken Tree

Today I did something not at all out of the ordinary for this time of year. Something that many people do as well I’m sure. I began taking down the Christmas decorations around the house and putting them away until next season. As I went through the motions, I came to the Christmas tree. I always take extra care, as there are special ornaments that I would be devastated if I broke in the process. After removing the ornaments, it was time to then move to the lights. That is when it hit me in a wave, the tree was broken this year. Upon putting the tree up at the beginning of the season, we realized only one strand of lights was working. We had a decision to make, either replace the entire tree, or just get new lights.

Now, back to the present moment of me taking down the tree. Here I stood looking at this magnificent tree and thinking to myself, how could we have ever thought of throwing it out over a few broken lights? Looking at this tree today, who would even know it was ever broken? All it needed was a little light and it was like brand new! Standing there shining and bright in all of it’s glory. This made me reflect on my own life. How many times have I given up on a situation when all it needed was a new perspective? A light shone on it. Or, worse, on dreams or goals because I thought they were broken when they did not work out the way I thought they should? When in reality, maybe I was not looking at it in the right light?

Sometimes in life we miss out on opportunity because we focus on what is broken instead of the magnificence of what is not. My goal this year is to focus on the positive aspects of every situation and to try and not take opportunities for granted. My wish for all of you is that when you look at the broken trees in your life, you see something beautiful as well and that you decide to build on them and not to give up on them! I would love to hear about your goals for the year, so feel free to drop me a line! Much love to you all! XoXo, SheShe

Reflections

They say a picture is worth a thousand words and who am I to argue with the age old saying? As I sit here writing this blog today, looking back at the year we have had, I am reflecting. I am looking at the extreme hardships, endurance, loss, sickness, indifference, struggles and valleys we have all walked through. As to the why, I won’t pretend to know or have all the answers, as I truly believe no one really does. Coming to a close, the ability to reflect, to look back and see more than all of those brutalities is true growth.

Let me let you in on my reflections of this past year. I see a strength to get through the toughest of any scenario that arises. I see community, even in seclusion. The outpouring of support as a small business owner was heart warming. I found new and inventive ways to reach out to those that could not get out through social media outlets. The ability to learn new ways of doing things, while may seem daunting at first, is refreshing and pays off in the end. I was able to make new friends and a whole new following that I would have probably never even attempted if it had not been due to the year we had. For all of those things, I see promise. Promise of a brighter future.

Looking back on the days that I truly felt heart break, maybe for someone dear or even for my own loss, I can see now that those days made me the strongest. To feel that type of pain for someone else or a situation, is to truly know love and or to feel passionate about someone or something. That love and passion is what fuels our life. Without it, we would be empty. For that I am grateful and I see ambition. There is no better fuel to move forward than that of fulfilling legacy.

Reflecting on my professional life, I see rebirth. Yes, I lost the most precious company (as my my mentor would say, my child), as it was purchased by another company. This was quite possibly one of the hardest decisions of my career, as this company was birthed at my kitchen table 15 years ago. I have cried and lost countless nights of sleep over the course of this past year trying to wrestle with my decision. Then, after much contemplation, I came to the realization that the company was never about the name, while yes, we do honor it, it was always the people. The people are my family and will always be my family. We do not need a building, or material things, we still will always have each other. That realization brought me peace and comfort. There has been relearning this past year with the new company. Meeting new people, new processes, combining methods. The new challenges have brought growth for me and excitement. I love the possibility of new adventures while building new relationships.

The reflections I love the most from this past year are those of my family. We had so may first with our grandson, the infamous Asher Grey! His first words, first steps, first birthday! These are the reflections that do the heart the most good and remind you that there is hope for a bright future!

My wish for all of you reading this post today is that you see the strength, the love and the promise in your reflections. I always love hearing from all of of you, so please feel free to comment with your reflections of the year! As always, much love to you all! XoXo – SheShe

VISION FUELS SUCCESS

We are entering the home stretch of the first quarter of 2021. Some of you are thinking, seriously? Where did the time go? While there are others of you that are thinking, oh no! I am not near where I wanted, needed, or thought I would be by now this year. Not to worry, because today’s blog will be helpful in either thought process you may be struggling with!

I am sure like most, you set out with a plan for this year and it probably seemed doable, achievable, or at least like a good thought. Or, maybe you didn’t have a plan at all. Maybe, you are more the “let’s wing it” type and you just wanted to play your cards this year. Either way, the little tips today will give you the jumpstart you may have missed or have been waiting on to get started.

Without further delay, let’s get to it! What is it that we all want in life? The one true sustainable attribute that ultimately determines our happiness. You guessed it right, if you said, SUCCESS! When we are successful in life, we tend to be happier! That success can be in work, personal, emotional, mental and even physical success.

Now, I know what you are thinking. Easier said then done, right? I’m glad you asked. Today, I’m going to walk you through some strategies that have brought me success. The first step in preparing to be successful is having vision. VISION FUELS SUCCESS! I want you to let that sink in. If you do not take away anything from today’s blog, remember that sentence. The possibilities are truly limitless. If you can see it, you can achieve it.

At the beginning of each year, I , like most of you, start thinking about what I want out of the upcoming year. I have started adding a different perspective to that thought process. I know add the the question, what do I not want out of this year? And with that thought in mind how do I reverse engineer that into success? Let me give you some examples:

1.) I do not want negativity and I do not want bad health. I can equate those to multiple areas of my life and plan to make changes. I can work out a couple times a week and eat healthier options in meal planning. These changes will lead to happiness, which leads me to being successful.

2.) I do not want to ever forget that each day is a gift and should not be taken for granted. I’m only getting older, we all are. I will spend more time with my family making memories, traveling, vacations and holidays. This brings me happiness, which leads to success.

3.) Mediocrity will not be my legacy. I will take more school courses/career classes, read up on current literature, and browse forums. I will always be in a state of learning, which leads to success.

Once I have collected my thoughts, the next step in my process is creating a Vision Board. This activity is useful for several reasons. The main reason being, is that it creates a visual daily reminder for you to help you remember what your vision is. Another important reason is that putting the vision board together motivates you to want to actually fulfill the items on the board through the visual aid. I use Pinterest to create my Vision Board because it has a great search feature and literally thousands of results for you to choose from. When creating your vision board, keep in mind that you want to incorporate all aspects of your life, work, personal, family, etc. Don’t be afraid to be creative and have fun! I have included a link to my vision board below and also a screenshot as a reference tool.

Style Blog|fortheloveshe.com (fortheloveofshe.com)

I hope these tips have been helpful with your journey this year. My last bit of advice is to live each day to the fullest. Time is a gift that we can’t get back and there never seems to be enough of. Use it wisely! Take the time to do things that bring you happiness and you will find your success! Please do share your visions for this year with me in the comments, as I love hearing from you! As always, much love to you all, XOXO – SheShe!

Stand Out. For Good. An ALTAR’D STATE of Mind

My daughter and I have been going on shopping adventures together since she was knee high to a grass hopper and we have always had the same sense of style. Recently she introduced me to a new store on one of our shopping trips, ALTAR’D STATE. She kept raving about how much she loved this place, how nice the staff was, the quality of the clothing and most importantly what really caught my attention was when she stated how great she felt when she went there. As a mom, I pried into this statement and she of course was happy to go into details. My daughter began to explain about the amazing culture of the store and how a portion of the net proceeds actually go back to various organizations, being for the homeless, cancer and missions. And this is not just on a random basis, this is year around. She actually said being in the store brought a sense of peace to her. With all of these amazing things I was hearing, I had to check this place out! So I did and the moral of this antidote is every she said is absolutely true and I am obsessed with everything about ALTAR’D STATE!

Being a fashion forward individual, I immediately knew that I wanted to be a part of this amazing culture and share it with all of you as soon as possible. On today’s blog, I will be sharing the ALATAR’S STATE of Mind and what it’s all about. It’s rare to find a store that actually has a mission, and this one does! The mission, which can be found displayed proudly in each location and on their website states, “Our mission is to serve as an inspiration, empower others and give more than we receive. We do this by lifting those who need a helping hand, volunteering our time to enrich lives, and extending the power of prayer.”  That is powerful , inspiring and empowering!

“TRUE BEAUTY: Together  we will change the world for the better. We will positively impact those who need it most. We will warm souls and create happiness.”

ALTAR’D STATE sells a variety of items in store and online from clothing, to baby items, jewelry and home goods. You are greeted by an associated at the door every time you visit the store and not to be pushy , but just to say hello , a compliment or how are you! Again, another feel good aspect of this awesome store. The store has the items mixed in together strategically through-ought the store in a way where you get to see everything while shopping the clothing items as well.

The dressing rooms are located in the back of the store and they are something to behold! You are again greeted by an associate, who uniquely labels you dressing room with your name (nice touch)! The dressing room area is beautifully lit and well appointed with big mirrors and plenty of walking space to strut your looks back there in your try ons! This is definitely one of my favorite places in the store!

The store also offers a sale room in the back of the store. That’s right! An entire room filled with items on sale! Clothing, shoes, jewelry, home goods, it’s all in there! You want to make sure you hit this space up for sure for some great deals!

Once you have made your selections and are ready to check out, you can find the registers located in the back of the store. There are always plenty of sales associates at the counter, so you will never be waiting long! The sales associates fold each clothing item and wrap it in tissue paper when bagging up your purchases, which again is such a nice touch. The final touch is they bring your bags around to you and hand them off to you , thanking you and wishing you well. This may not sound like much, but as an avid shopper, this is an extremely gracious touch and makes for a great shopping experience.
